ONRAD Teleradiology services will make you more competitive.
ONRAD began in 1998 as a traditional Teleradiology company and has since evolved into a true full service teleradiology provider by adding on-site staffing and technology services. However, standard Teleradiology is still our core service. Read on for answers to some frequently asked questions about our Teleradiology solutions.
Do I need preliminary reports or final reports?
Preliminary Reports answer a specific medical question (for example, whether or not a certain condition is present), and are not considered billable. The on-site radiologist must re-read the study and sign a more complete report, which is considered billable. Final Reports provide a complete interpretation of the patient’s exam, in which all relevant findings are included. Final Reports do not need to be re-read.
Teleradiology solutions that include final reports are the most cost effective. When radiologists come to work in the morning, they can begin working with new patients instead of devoting additional time re-reading studies from the previous night. Your radiologists may also find that they have additional time to spend with their patients. In many cases, final reports cost only about 10% more than preliminary reports.
What hours is Teleradiology coverage available?
ONRAD Teleradiology services are available every day, all day. Usually, customers that need night emergency reads usually request service between 5pm-8am. However, we can accommodate these studies at any hour because ONRAD physicians are always on call.
What are the standard turnaround times for Teleradiology exams?
Standard turnaround times are usually 10 minutes for a STAT, 30 minutes for a standard ER study, and 2 hours for a routine study.
Where do the physicians read from?
All radiologists are Board certified and read from their homes in the U.S. Read brief biographies on our website, or full CVs are available upon request.
In addition to general teleradiology services, ONRAD also offers Subspecialty Teleradiology Services. Our physicians have subspecialty training in the following areas: Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Body Imaging, TeleMammography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, PET, Trauma Radiology, Genitourinary Radiology, Abdominal Radiology, and Pediatric Radiology. All subspecialty teleradiology reports are final, and standard turnaround time is 24 hours.
